Each year, the Broders ER Golf Classic has drawn physicians, nurses, paramedics and other medical professionals from DFW-area hospitals for a fun-filled day of golf.

Over the last 20 years, the tournament has raised more than $1 million for Parkland Health Foundation programs including the Injury Prevention Center and Public Health Preparedness Fund.

This year, the tournament raised more than $56,000 to fight diabetes in Dallas County. These donations will provide advance glucose monitoring systems with sensors to diabetic patients at Parkland Health.

Monitoring glucose levels remotely is more convenient for patients and frees up in-person appointments for people needing urgent attention. At any given time, Parkland is actively managing 30,000 to 40,000 diabetic patients. This generous support will help increase the number of patients given access to the glucose monitoring, which will extend and ultimately save lives.

Parkland Health Foundation is grateful for this year’s participants who are helping to create a healthier Dallas County.
