Parkland Health Foundation is honored to partner with The Christopher Barkley Foundation. Last month, representatives from the organization visited the Moody Outpatient Center on the Parkland Health campus to see the newly installed donor plaque outside one of our behavioral health clinic treatment rooms—recognizing their generous support of mental health services in our community.

The Foundation’s gifts are made in memory of Christopher Barkley, who tragically passed away in 2022 after his own struggles with mental health.  

Over the last two years, The Christopher Barkley Foundation has donated $20,000 to support Parkland’s Rapid Integrated Group Healthcare Team (RIGHT) Care Program. RIGHT Care deploys multidisciplinary teams consisting of a law enforcement officer, a paramedic, and Parkland mental health clinicians to respond to behavioral health calls to 911, diverting patients from emergency departments and jails by stabilizing them on the scene and connecting them to the appropriate intervention services that can meet their healthcare needs. 

Nearly one in five adults in Texas experiences mental illness each year, yet 61% of Texas residents who need mental health treatment don’t receive it. Parkland is committed to expanding access to behavioral health services—especially for children, teens, and underserved communities. Through donor support, Parkland is investing in programs that help individuals find hope, healing, and the care they need.
